Our sneakers define who we are. We are working on the most sustainable versions of our sneakers, while the design remains HUB. A lifestyle sneaker with an athletic touch. Knowing our product inside out allows us to choose the most sustainable materials. Materials such as leather, canvas and rubber. We only use leather that is certified to meet animal welfare, safety and environmental requirements. That’s why we’re proud to partner with tanneries certified by the Leather Working Group (LWG). But what is the LWG, and why does it matter? Let’s dive in.
The Leather Working Group is a not-for-profit organization that’s redefining how leather is produced. Established in 2005, the LWG’s mission is simple but powerful: to promote sustainable and responsible practices within the leather industry. They bring together key players from brands, suppliers, and manufacturers to work towards a more environmentally friendly future.
The LWG is crucial because they set the bar high for environmental performance. By establishing rigorous standards and conducting thorough audits, the LWG ensures that only the best and most responsible tanneries earn their certification. This means less pollution, better resource management, and a healthier planet.
Gold is the highest level of certification from the LWG, representing the crème de la crème of environmentally conscious leather production. To achieve this prestigious rating, a tannery must score between 85 and 100 points in the LWG audit. This means they excel in:

Using recycled materials in our sneakers and outsoles helps us reduce our carbon footprint. We do this by saving raw materials, water for energy processing and CO2 emissions. At the same time, we are constantly looking for new, innovative or improved materials to use in our sneakers. In this way we continue to reduce our impact, while the design remains HUB.
Our recycled canvas is crafted from production waste, which means it’s made from surplus canvas that has never been worn by consumers. Rather than discarding this excess material, we send it to our factory where it undergoes a transformation. First, the old canvas is converted into yarn, which is then woven into fresh new canvas. To achieve our desired colors, we use soy-based dyes to recolor the off-white canvas, making it both environmentally friendly and stylish.
This sustainable material is featured in our classic shoe, the Boss, combining eco-consciousness with timeless design.
Our nylon is 100% recycled, made from repurposed plastic materials. For every pair of our nylon sneakers, nearly one whole water bottle is given a new life, helping to reduce plastic waste and conserve resources. Each sneaker’s recycled content may vary, so we provide detailed specifications on the product page to highlight exactly how much plastic was used.
This eco-friendly material is featured in our all-time favorite, the Slam, available for both him and her. With every step you take in these sneakers, you’re not only making a fashion statement but also contributing to a more sustainable future.>
Our recycled rubber is crafted from the waste generated during our own outsole production process. Rather than discarding this material, we meticulously reclaim and repurpose it into new outsoles, closing the loop and enhancing our sustainability efforts. By doing so, we make every step of our production more efficient and eco-friendly.
Currently, our recycled rubber content stands at 10%, ensuring that we maintain the highest quality standards while incorporating sustainable practices. We are continuously exploring ways to increase the percentage of recycled material in our outsoles without compromising on performance or durability. Our goal is to make the circular economy a central part of our manufacturing process, contributing to a more sustainable future with each pair of shoes.
This innovative approach is featured in many of our designs, blending eco-consciousness with exceptional quality.
