Sustainability comes in many forms. And our first sustainable sneaker is here. The Break Z! A sneaker with a nylon upper made from 100% recycled plastic. Almost an entire water bottle is recycled per pair! That's just cool, right?
What does the Z behind the Break stand for? That refers to our Z-stitch line. The Z-stitch is our brand logo since 2004. The logo connects different parts of the sneaker. We like to see it as the connection between footwear and lifestyle. Between comfort and trend. Between you and us.
Of course we have a sustainable line for women. Don't think that we only dive into sustainability for men. Are you kidding me?! For the iconic Baseline, we have developed 5 colorways with the same 100% recycled nylon. Perfect for the upcoming season!
We are getting to know our production process better and better. This allows us to make sustainable choices. And every step counts. For example, we reuse the rubber of our own outsoles and use them to make new outsoles! Our recycled rubber is therefore made from the waste that we make ourselves. We call this efficient simplicity.
So we try to make the circle as efficient as possible. To maintain quality, the recycled content is currently 10%. That doesn't sound like much. But with 10 production pairs we already save a whole pair of outsoles! We are testing whether we can grow and add more recycled rubber to our outsole. Without losing our HUB Footwear quality standard.
